The ‘You Read, They Learn’ initiative has made it to the Limca Book of Records. The initiative, which HT readers are participating in to help send underprivileged children to school, set a record for ”distributing the largest number of textbooks to underprivileged children in a single
    day”.

On April 19, a day after the initiative was launched, one million beginner’s textbooks were published and distributed in Delhi-NCR.

Thousands of HT readers, who cut and stapled newspaper pages and shared them with underprivileged children, made this possible.

Under the initiative, readers have also been contributing every day — as a part of the cover price — towards a fund being disbursed to NGOs CRY and Pratham for their projects in the area of primary education.

Four months into the initiative, HT has helped send more than 3,200 children to school. The project aims to help send 10,000 children to school, but the number will surely increase with your continued support.
