Former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Sunil Jakhar will lead the party MLAs in the protest. The dharna will be staged from 11 am onwards at Rialto Chowk.Jakhar had announced the action plan of the Congress soon after the ASI's murder.

Besides MLAs, senior leaders of the party will also take part in the protest. The Congress has also extended an invitation to all residents of Amritsar and nearby villages to join the dharna.
