The Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday claimed to have recovered fake Indian currency notes amounting to around Rs. 7.5 lakh from the Amritsar sector of the Indo-Pak border.
Giving details, BSF authorities claimed, "The BSF troops of Border Observational Post, Daoke, observed
suspected movement on Monday night on both sides of International Border (IB) and troops were alerted."

"On Tuesday morning, during search, the BSF troops found a packet of fake currency in the field near the border. Smugglers probably tried to exploit the area but their plan failed due to the alert troops and the smugglers managed to escape leaving behind the packet. The currency was in the denomination of Rs. 500."

A couple of days ago, the BSF had seized fake currency from the Amritsar sector of the border.
