The court, on Wednesday, sent all the seven accused in the Gurdaspur gangrape case in judicial custody till January 30. They had forcibly taken a bus passenger to somewhere near Gurdaspur and gangraped her on Friday night. The police told the court that the accused had confessed to the
crime, and hence their police custody was not needed.

The rape victim was a 29-year-old married woman. She had boarded a bus from her parents' village, Jagatpur, in Pathankot district for her in-laws' village, Ghukla, near Kahnuwan.

But the driver, Daler Singh, and conductor Ravi Kumar did not drop her at her destination and instead forcibly took her to somewhere near Gurdaspur on motorcycle, from where they went to a house, where five of their friends joined them in raping the woman. The rape victim was dropped Daler Singh near her in-laws' village the next day.
