Stressing that Pakistan Rangers refused to accept the body of a Pakistani woman shot down by Border Security Force men a few days back, the BSF authorities claimed that the body was later buried in a border village after following all religious rituals.
In a press release issued here, the BSF clarified that it was inadvertently mentioned by BSF IG Aditya Mishra that the body had been handed over to Pak Rangers.
The release said that the woman intruder was seen approaching the fence on the Indo-Pak border while it was raining heavily on July 9. As BSF jawans signaled the intruder to stop, she ignored the warning and continued to approach the fence.
Thereafter, a BSF jawan shot her dead. Later, it was found that the intruder was a Pakistani woman aged around 35.
The BSF said that when Pakistani Rangers were contacted, they initially agreed to take away the body but later claimed that her identity was not clear. So the body was buried at Thoba village, the BSF release said.
