The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has decided to use the medium of films and theatre for promoting and propagating philosophy and tenets of Sikhism.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the SGPC Dharam Prachar Sub-Committee here on Tuesday. Prominent among those
present in the meeting was SGPC executive member Rajinder Singh Mehta, secretary (dharam prachar) Satbir Singh, additional secretary Daljit Singh and a number of others.

The meeting decided that films associated with Sikhism would be produced by roping in prominent production houses, directors and producers.

These films will also spread awareness against drug addiction, female foeticide and other social evils prevalent in the society.

For using the medium of theatre, the sub committee will seek the services of leading drama and theater companies. Prominent Sikh scholar Inderjeet Singh Gogoani and Amarjit Singh will be associated with this project of the SGPC.
