5 booked for duping man of Rs. 9.45 lakh

Five persons have been booked for duping a youth of Rs. 9.45 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad.


Sukhjit Singh from Bhala Faria village had reportedly given Rs. 9.45 lakh to Kashmiri Lal, Pankaj Rahul, Harbhajan Singh, Harminder Kaur and Satnam for sending him to Australia.

But, they reportedly neither sent him abroad nor returned his money, following which Sukhjit filed a complaint at the local police station and the accused were booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The matter was being investigated.

Newlywed woman commits suicide

 A newly-married woman committed suicide at Nathana village by hanging herself with a ceiling fan on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Parminder Kaur, a resident of Lohal Kalan in Sangrur district was married to Amarinder Singh, a police constable from Nathana village about 4 months ago.
