As many as 51.48 lakh complaints have been disposed of since the enactment of Punjab Right To Service (PRTS) Act in 2011 for ensuring time-bound delivery of government services.
State Right To Service Commissioner Dalbir Singh Verka said a total of 51.89 lakh complaints pertaining to
various departments was received since the law came into force, out of which 51.48 lakh complaints have been disposed of.

Claiming that Punjab was the first state to implement the Act for providing time-bound delivery of government services, Verka on Friday said while 69 government services are already under its ambit, 51 more services will soon be brought under its purview.

He said the government has been informed about shortage of officials across various departments, leading to delay delay in providing information to people.

Similar complaints regarding shortage of staff were received from other districts as well, Verka said, assuring that he will take up the matter with the state government.
