Senior Congress leader and former Punjab chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal alleged that the Badals' family was turning out be an oppressive dictatorial family. She added that it was important top ensure that the family was put on a leash and the claimed that people could set them right by
defeating the party candidate in Moga byelection.

Addressing the public meetings at various places in town on Saturday in support of party candidate Vijay Sathi, Bhattal alleged that CM Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal had concentrated power within themselves only.

She claimed that tha duo had grabbed all the state's resources and driven the state to bankruptcy.

“The family of chief minister Parkash Singh Badal now owns 600 buses from six buses within six years. In the process they have destroyed all public and private transport companies.”

Bhattal added that the Moga byelection held a state-wide significance. She said that a firm and strong message needed to be sent to the Badals that their dictatorship could not last long and claimed that the people of Moga will send a strong message to the Badals.
