Businessman, girl killed in road accidents

Two people, including a girl, were killed on Sunday in separate road accidents here. A private bus ran over Sarabjit Kaur, 21, of Khanjarwal in Ludhiana district when she was crossing the Ludhiana highway in the afternoon near the bus stand. She was student of a private institute at Chakki Wali
Gali. The police have registered a case against bus driver Gurdev Singh.

In another accident, Jaswant Lal Sharma, 43, of Manuke village was killed when his Maruti car collided head-on with a tempo traveller near Gill bypass in the morning. Lal, a businessman, was on his way from Baghapurana to Moga when the accident occurred. He was killed on the spot, while Simran Sharma, Udham Singh and Simran Kaur, all from Ludhiana, were injured critically.
The injured were admitted to Dr Mathura Dass Civil Hospital here before doctors referred them to an institute in Ludhiana.
