The leader of the Congress Legislative Party Sunil Jakhar has said that a political conspiracy was being hatched in the garb of Punjab and Haryana high court order through which the pensioners having an allegiance to the Congress had been sent recovery notice of thousands of rupees.

In a press release, Jakhar said that the issue would be raised in the Vidhan Sabha and if needed a legal battle will be fought to safeguard the interests of the pensioners.

He said that a number of pensioners had approached him, showing recovery notices of thousands of rupees.

In Punjab more than 70,000 pensioners had been declared bogus and the state government was hell bent on recovering the pension amount from them, said Jakhar.

The Congress sympathisers had been targeted by the Akali-BJP leaders and they were being threatened with legal action against them in case they did not pay back the pension amount, Jakhar said.

Jakhar assured the people that he would fight for cause of all the pensioners.
