Abohar legislator and state opposition leader Sunil Jakhar will represent Punjab at the Congress Chintan Shivir (introspection camp) in Jaipur on January 18, 19 and 20.
The first two days of discussion at the camp will be about agriculture. Party president Sonia Gandhi has constituted
a seven-member Congress committee to deal with the issue, and state Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Sunil Jakhar is the only member from Punjab on it.

The other members on the committee are rural development minister Jairam Ramesh, shipping minister GK Wasan, former chief minister of Chattisgarh and Congress Working Committee (CWC) member Ajit Jogi, Congress spokesperson Renuka Chaudhary, parliamentarian Deepinder Hooda, and chairman CP Joshi, who is a union cabinet minister.

"The deliberations will focus on the challenges in making farming a profitable occupation, and working out solutions," said Jakhar in a press release issue here on Saturday. The committee will report on all facets of agriculture and suggest changes in the union agriculture policy.
