The district legal service authority (DLSA) will stand by the disabled for the protection of their rights.
This was the assurance of sessions judge Jaspal Singh on Monday in his World Disability Day address at Mahant Gurbanta Dass School for the Deaf and Mute here. The judge, who is
also chairman of the DLSA, and his wife, Jaswinder Kaur, were chief guests at the function.

"We are making the best possible efforts to reach out to the physically and mentally challenged with our legal services," said the judge. "We stand by them for their rights and requirements. All expenditure in the proceedings will be paid from the DLSA account."

The chief guest gave away gifts to the school's students.
