Moga gets Rs. 128 crore for sewerage projects

The Punjab government has approved Rs. 127.58 crore for sewerage and Rs. 12.56 crore for water supply projects, respectively, in Moga.


Former agriculture minister jathedar Tota Singh said that work on most projects had been started. In Moga, projects worth Rs. 5.20 crore for water supply and Rs. 63.62 crore for sewerage were underway.

"Baghapurana sewerage projects worth Rs. 27.25 crore is on and project worth Rs. 5.44 crore has been approved. In Dharamkot, work on sewerage projects worth Rs. 18.71 crore is in progress. Water supply projects worth Rs. 85 lakh has been approved," he added.

Tota Singh added that in Badhni Kalan, projects worth Rs. 18 crore for sewerage and Rs. 1.07 crore for water supply has been approved.

Security guard murdered in Sangrur

A 50-year-old security guard of the city-based security agency,Third Eye, was murdered here on Thursday night. The deceased, identified as Avtar Singh of Ubhawal village of the district, was deputed at the main gate of the office of the security agency, when he was attacked with a knife in the chest. The security agency is owned by retired deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Ashok Mohan.
