"I and my family members searched for the girls throughout the night, but to no avail. The next morning, my neighbour told me that his 14-year-old daughter had also not returned home from school. We went to police station immediately and submitted a complaint," he added.

Moga senior superintendent of police Surjit Singh Grewal said, "After receiving the complaint, I constituted a special police team for nabbing the suspect. Three different police parties raided some places across the state. During the search, our police party found two girls minor girls from Anandpur Sahib. They revealed that Sukhdeep Singh 'Soni' of Rania village had abducted them along with another 14-year-old girl."

"The victim, in her complaint to the police stated that Sukhdeep Singh Soni who belonged to her village, had been raping her on the pretext of marrying her. We rescued three minor girls from the possession of Soni," said SSP.

Grewal added that the police have registered a case against Sukhdeep Singh 'Soni' under Sections 363, 366-A, 376 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code at Badhni Kalan police station after the girl's medical examination was conducted at the civil hospital Nihal Singh Wala.
