The Delhi gang-rape victim has died but the evil that she fought continues to live.
The nationwide outrage over crimes against women hasn't stopped the tide. Four people here now are charged with molesting a young woman outside a restaurant where she had gone for dinner with
The woman's father, Bharat Bhushan, has lodged a complaint with the police. On Saturday night, he had taken his wife, son, and daughter to dinner at Talking Tables restaurant. Around 9pm, when the family came out, four people at the gate passed lewd remarks at Bhushan's daughter.
Suspects Neeraj Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Sunil Kumar, and S Dhalla are reported to be private businessmen. Neeraj Kumar is charged with grabbing the woman's arm tightly. It led to argument with the family, and in spite of Bhushan's warning and objection, the misbehaviour continued.
Sensing trouble, the restaurant team called the police. On the complaint of the victim and her family, investigation officer Jaswinder Kaur registered a case against the suspects under Sections 354 (criminal force to outrage woman's modesty) and 34 (common intent in crime) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
"The suspects are not students," said police investigation officer Jaswinder Kaur. "They are into some private business, and since the registration of the complaint, they are out on bail."
