3 held for assaulting 2 city residents

Police have arrested three persons on the charges of assaulting two city residents in separate incidents reported on Monday.   In the first incident, Baljinder Singh, a resident of Bapu Dham Colony, Sector 26, alleged that Mansa Ram, also a resident of the colony, assaulted
him. The victim who sustained head injuries was rushed to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16.

Acting on the victim's complaint, a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means and criminal intimidation has been registered under sections 324 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Sector-26 police station.

The police have arrested the accused, who was produced in the court and sent to judicial custody.

In another incident, Subhash, a resident of Phase 2, Ramdarbar, was allegedly beaten up by Bajir and Sanjay, both residents of Ramdarbar, near his residence.

Subhash was admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32.

A case under sections 324, 506 and 34 of the IPC has been registered.
