55 officials placed under suspension in Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended 55 officials of different government departments who were found absent from duty in south Kashmir district of Shopian. Officials said here on Tuesday divisional commissioner, Kashmir, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon reviewed the situation inKashmir valley
with all deputy commissioners and heads of departments with regard to availability of essential commodities and services provided to the public.

It was impressed upon them to ensure 100 per cent attendance in all government offices and to speedup the developmental works in view of closing financial year and to initiate disciplinary action against absentees as per the Service Rules.

Attendance in different offices was recorded 90-100 per cent except parts of Kulgam and Shopian where 55 government employees found absent.

The absentees were placed under suspension by concerned deputy commissioner and disciplinary action recommended against 11 others.
