Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday asked chief secretary Rakesh Singh and CM's principal secretary SK Sandhu to monitor paddy procurement across the state on a daily basis to ensure hassle-free and quick lifting of paddy.
Presiding over a meeting of divisional
commissioners and deputy commissioners here at Punjab Bhawan, Badal constituted a three-member committee comprising chief secretary, principal secretary to CM and secretary, food and civil supplies, to take stock of the situation everyday.
Badal asked the chief secretary to be in constant touch with food and civil supplies minister Adesh Partap Singh Kairon. The chief minister also asked the chief secretary to free deputy commissioners from the burden of other routine administrative work to help them focus on procurement.
Utilisation certificates
Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday directed deputy commissioners to further direct their additional deputy commissioners (development) to ensure timely submission of utilisation certificates of development grants from the officers concerned.
He also asked them to ensure strict compliance of electronic transfer of disbursement of various grants under social welfare schemes.
