Two persons who were arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a 14-year-old near Sandwa village, 25 km from here, have been sent to two-day police custody on Tuesday.
The directions were issued by the local court of duty magistrate. The girl, in her statement recorded before
the magistrate under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedural Code (CrPC), said that she knew Rajesh and the intercourse was consensual.

She even denied that the crime was committed in a moving jeep, adding that she was taken to a secluded place in the village.

The two in police custody have been identified as Manoj, a resident of Sandwa village, and Rajesh, a resident of Kakroli Hukmi village. The third accused, who is yet to be arrested, has been identified as Toni alias Pradeep.

Tosham station house officer Mauzi Ram said: "Main accused Rajesh had taken the girl to a deserted house in the village where the crime was committed in the presence of Manoj. The entire incident was guarded by Toni. Since the girl is underage, we have booked the accused for rape."

He said: "On the basis of the victim's statement we have arrested two people who were produced before the court. They have been sent to two-day police custody. We are on the lookout for the third accused."

The incident had taken place around 7.15pm when the girl, a Class-8 student, was on her way back home on Saturday.

In her complaint, which was lodged on Sunday afternoon, the girl alleged that it was dark when the two youth pulled her into a jeep, while the third was at the wheel.
