Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday expressed grief over the death of assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Ravinderpal Singh, who was shot dead by an Akali leader in Amritsar. The CM also ordered a probe into the incident.
Badal said nobody would be allowed to take the law
in his hands, whosoever high or influential he may be, a spokesman said here.
The CM also directed the Amritsar police commissioner to probe the matter to ascertain the circumstances that led to this unfortunate incident and also to fix responsibility of the delinquent officials. He asked director general of police (DGP) Sumedh Singh Saini to ensure exemplary punishment to perpetrators of this crime as per the law of the land.
