Cold conditions prevail in Punjab and Haryana

Cold conditions on Friday prevailed in most parts of Punjab and Haryana with night temperatures hovering a degree or two below normal. In Haryana, Ambala recorded a low of 5.1 degrees celsius, one below normal, while Hisar's low of 5.6 deg celsius settled within the normal
range.

Karnal experienced a cold night at 4 deg celsius, down three degrees, while Narnaul and Bhiwani recorded respective minimums of 6.2 deg celsius and 5.2 deg celius.

Amritsar in Punjab braved the chill at 2.4 deg celsius minimum, two below normal.

Ludhiana registered a low of 6.2 deg celsius, down one degree while Patiala's minimum settled at 6.6 deg celsius.

Chandigarh recorded a low of 5.7 deg celsius, the MeT said here.

The MeT office said that the fog had reduced visibility early today at Ludhiana and Karnal.
