Cold wave yet to grip Punjab, Haryana

Cold wave is yet to grip Punjab and Haryana, where the minimum temperatures for the past few days have been hovering above or within the normal levels.
There are no cold wave conditions yet even though it has snowed in the hills of neighbouring states like Himachal Pradesh and Jammu
and Kashmir, MeT office said.

The minimum temperatures in the plains of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh have been hovering within or well above the normal levels for the past few days.

Today also the minimum temperatures in the two states and capital city Chandigarh hovered well above the normal level though they dropped marginally at a few places since yesterday, a MeT official said.

Chandigarh today recorded a low of 10 degree Celsius, up by two notches.

In Haryana, Ambala's minimum settled three notches above normal at 10 degree Celsius while Hisar recorded a low of 9.6 degree Celsius, also up by three degree Celsius.

Bhiwani and Narnaul recorded above normal minimum temperatures of 12 degree Celsius each.

Amritsar in Punjab registered a 3 degrees above normal low at 9.4 degree Celsius.

Patiala's minimum settled at 10 degree Celsius while Ludhiana recorded an overnight temperature of 9 degree Celsius, up by three and two degrees, respectively.
