The Punjab Civil Medical Services (PCMS) Association has flayed chief parliamentary secretary, health, Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu's move to conduct raids and sting operations against government doctors.
In a press release, association members said they would start a statewide agitation if
the sting operations were not stopped.

Dr Hardeep Singh, president of the association, said their body was not in favour of private practice by government doctors, but Dr Sidhu's ongoing campaign was undemocratic and autocratic. "Every responsible person in the government should refrain from maligning the image of doctors and the health department," he said.

The association said the department had a well-organised network of supervisory officers at every level and a well-disciplined line of authority of hierarchy of democratically-elected health minister. He alleged that CPS is totally ignoring the supervisory officer network as well as Health Minister  Madan Mohan Mittal.

PCMS representatives have urged Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and health minister Madan Mohan Mittal to intervene in the matter to stop otherwise PCMS Association will be compelled to launch a statewide agitation.
