The fast tracking of court process in case of heinous crime won't be permitted to affect the other trials, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Altamas Kabir has said.
New infrastructure would be created for the fast-track courts, the CJI said here on Saturday after inaugurating the national
rounds of the Leiden-Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition at the Army Institute of Law. "Creating new infrastructure would also mean appointing new presiding officers," said the CJI. "The fast-tracking of trials in one category will not affect the trials in other cases."

Addressing students at the Army Institute of Law, the CJI alerted them to the people's eroding trust in lawyers. "We need to work towards restoring the faith," he said.
