Holiday in Punjab's schools, colleges today

The Punjab government has declared a holiday on Friday in all government and private-aided schools and colleges of the state on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti.

Meanwhile, chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday greeted the people of Punjab on Valmiki Jayanti. Badal said Valmiki, the creator of Ramayana, was a great exponent of Indian culture and civilisation. Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal also felicitated the people on the occasion.
