It has come out that Doon MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary had accompanied Jyoti for abortion.
According to her post-mortem report that she recently had an abortion. Both went to a nursing home in Sector 21 of Panchkula for the abortion. It was written on documents that she was brought by
Chaudhary and later it was crossed too.
Jyoti, a native of Bhunga village of Hoshiarpur, was found dead on a road in Sector 21, Panchkula, on November 22, 2012, morning with her head smashed.
According to the post-mortem report, she had died of head injury and had recently undergone an abortion. The mobile call details had pointed her association with Chaudhary.
The other accused in the case are Satpal, Dharampal, Gurmeet and Paramjit, alias Pumma. All five have been made accused on the basis of their mobile phone locations on the night of murder. The arrest warrants had been issued against four of them. Satpal's address was not known to the police, so his arrest warrant could not be issued.
Despite raiding a number of places in and around Baddi, the police could not arrest the accused. On Friday, the arrest warrants also expired. "We will get new arrest warrants issued on Saturday. So far, no arrest has been made in the case," said ACP (headquarters) Virender Sagwan.
Chaudhary had appeared in public on December 20, 2012, after he won from Doon constituency in Himachal Pradesh on the Congress ticket.
The Panchkula police did not arrest him as there was a request from the Himachal police that feared law and order problem. His anticipatory bail was dismissed on December 26, 2012, from the Panchkula district courts.
He filed an appeal against the order in the Punjab and Haryana high court, which he withdrew later.
