The state vigilance bureau officials arrested an assistant block programme officer while accepting bribe at the mini-secretariat here on Tuesday.
According to the vigilance officials, suspect Baldev Raj has been posted as assistant programme officer of Indri block in the district
under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).
Raj had allegedly demanded bribe of Rs. 15,000 from the sarpanch of Badheri village for the release of MGNREGS funds.
Sarpanch Pawan Kumar had lodged a complaint with the vigilance bureau and the suspect was arrested red-handed while accepting the bribe.
