Continued his liaisoning exercise with business houses in Mumbai, Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday invited corporate giants such as Godrej, Mahindras and Hindujas for the Progressive Punjab Global Investment Summit, to be held on December 9-10 in Mohali.

“I do not believe in making claims. I have only come to you after I am sure that the state is on the threshold of becoming a power-surplus. We have more than 20,000 acres of ready land available for allocation to entrepreneurs,” Sukhbir said at an investors’ meet in Mumbai, a spokesman said here.

On the occasion, Mahindra & Mahindra chairman Anand Mahindra announced his company’s plans to establish a world-class Mahindra University in New Chandigarh (Mullanpur), besides providing “end-to-end solutions” in marketing and agro processing in the horticulture sector.

The deputy chief minister held a meeting with Godrej group chairman Adi Godrej. Sukhbir also met Hinduja group executive chairman Ashok P Hinduja, seeking investment in solar power and skill development training projects in Punjab.
