In yet another incident of crime against women in the state, a mentally challenged minor girl was allegedly raped at her house in Panipat on late Friday evening.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, the police arrested Jagtar Singh (65) and his friend Gurnam Singh (38) in the case
on Saturday.

Police said that the incident came to light after the victim's mother approached the police in this regard.

While the victim's mother works as a daily wager at a factory in Panipat, her father is a rickshaw puller.

Police said that as per the complaint, Gurnam allegedly raped the girl in an inebriated condition and threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident.

The victim lives with her parents in a rented house owned by Jagtar at Barsat road in the Panipat town.

Police claims that Gurnam allegedly raped the girl while her parents were not at home. Jagtar witnessed the entire scene and stood guard, as the crime was committed.

The victim was medically examined at Bhim Sain Sachhar Civil Hospital and both accused were arrested on Saturday.
