A 12-year-old Class 6 girl was allegedly raped by a 60-year-old man at Ratia town of the district on Friday.
Police have arrested the accused, identified as Sohan Lal Odh, a resident of Ratia.
As per the complaint lodged by victim's father, the accused took the girl to the fields
near her school after school hours. After committing the crime, the accused, who sold fruits near the victim's school, threatened the girl of dire consequences if she narrated the incident to anyone.
The victim's father said that he came to know about the incident when he reached home and saw his daughter crying in pain. He said that he first brought the incident in the notice of the panchayat, but they (panchayat members) didn't take it seriously. After this, he approached the police for action against the accused.
Ratia station house officer Subhash Bishnoi confirmed the incident.
