Members of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged walkout for being “denied to speak” during a discussion on the state budget in the ongoing session of Haryana assembly here on Tuesday.
The uproar began immediately after the question hour when the
speaker, Kuldeep Sharma, asked Congress legislator Sampat Singh to speak on his calling attention on the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), while the INLD legislators sought to speak on the budget.

The INLD leaders, Abhey Chautala, Ashok Arora and Ram Pal Majra, reminded the speaker that it had been a tradition of the House that the opposition members were asked to speak on an issue first. As their demand was not conceded, they staged a walkout. They, however, returned after a few minutes.

Meanwhile, BJP legislators, including Anil Vij, Krishan Pal Gurjar and Ghanshyam Saraf, demanded discussion on the budget. Vij said the speaker did not give him time for his calling attention motion. On being denied permission to speak, they staged a walkout, while Vij said the House had become a Congress party meeting and not a place for all legislators to speak about their issues. The BJP members returned after some time.
