PU bans entry of outsiders on university campus

With elections round the corner, the Panjab University has decided not to allow entry of vehicles on campus without the requisite stickers. Not only this, carrying out processions and motorcades has also been banned.

Chief security officer, PU, Anil Monga said: "From Saturday onwards, vehicles without special stickers allotted for entry to the campus would not be allowed. We have distributed it to all departments and strict compliance would start from tomorrow."

In the meeting, Monga asked the security personnel to be vigilant against anti-social elements and informed that outsiders' entry had been strictly banned on the campus.

He said that no procession or motorcade would be allowed for the election campaigning as well.
Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Ashish Kapoor said that the local unit of the police has been asked to maintain a close liaison and a strict vigil. 

The meeting was attended by PU chief security officer Anil Monga, DSP Ashish Kapoor, and local SHO Gurumukh Singh, other officials of the UT police and the security wing.
