Rain lashes Punjab, Haryana, temp rise further

Rains continued to lash many places in Punjab and Haryana for the third day on Saturday with minimum temperature witnessing a further increase. The MeT attributed present change in weather to a Western Disturbance over North Pakistan and neighbourhood and to an Upper Air Cyclonic
Circulation which was active at Central Pakistan adjoining Rajasthan.

They said that the wet spell is likely to continue in the region tomorrow as well.

Chandigarh was lashed by heavy rains recording 17.9 mm and the low here further increased since yesterday to settle at 14.2 degrees, five degrees above normal, the MeT said.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded a low of 14 degrees celsius, up five degrees and the town received a rainfall of 8.8 mm.

Hisar's minimum settled at 13.8 degrees celsius, up four degrees, while the town got a rainfall of 2.4 mm.
Karnal, which was lashed by 9 mm of rains, recorded a low of 14 degrees celsius, up four degrees, while Bhiwani's low settled at 15 degrees celsius, up five degrees.

Narnaul's low settled at 13.5 degrees celsius, up by four degrees.

Among other places in Haryana to be lashed by rains included Panchkula, Bhiwani, Panipat, Kalka, Yamunanagar, Sonepat, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Faridabad.

Amritsar in Punjab registered a low of 12.2 degrees celsius, up by five degrees and received a rainfall of 4.6 mm. Ludhiana, too, recorded four degrees above normal low at 13.2 degrees celsius and a rainfall of 5 mm.

Patiala's minimum settled at 13.8 degrees celsius, up five degrees, while the town was lashed by 10 mm of rain.

Among other places in Punjab to be lashed by rains included Moga, Shahpur Kandi, Nangal Dam, Mohali, Phagwara, Madhopur and Hoshiarpur.
