Online IT returns are the flavour of the season

That the process of filing income tax returns online is finding increasing favour with city residents is evident from the decreasing number of people opting for manual filing. According to the data available, of the total of 1.7 lakh taxpayers in the city only 49,000 preferred the manual mode in 2013. Even then, there were long lines at the income tax office in Sector 17 on Thursday, the last date for filing returns.
