You might have spotted this one, riding around town on his bicycle, flaunting seven piercings on his left ear—representing the colours of the rainbow—three tattoos on the body, and an unmistakable attitude. That’s Sawan ‘Madman’ for you—a head turner to the T and recent Harley Davidson contest winner.

Come mid-December and you will see this 26-year-old Madman riding a Harley Davidson instead of his cycle, while flaunting his fourth and biggest tattoo, that of the leopard pattern, on his back.

Kharar-based Sawan Singh, a freelance photographer and visual artist, recently participated in a competition organised by Harley Davidson all over India.

Sharing details about the competition, he says, “Thanks to the ‘prediction’ that the world will come to an end in December this year, Harley Davidson India organised a show called Harley Rock Riders Season 3, which they announced would be their ‘last show on earth’. The show also featured a competition called 20 Things You Want To Do Before The World Ends, in which one had to select one thing and make a video of 3 to 4 minutes. So, I chose Get Your Dream Tattoo and got a leopard pattern tattooed on my back.”

Out of a total 85 entries from all over India, top 10 were chosen, out of which Sawan emerged the winner of a whooping R5,65,000 Harley Davidson bike.

Talking about the leopard tattoo made by Chandigarh-based tattoo artist Nitin Chauhan, he says, “The Indian leopard is a disappearing species. Thus, the tattoo serves as a tribute. I also relate to the character of a leopard, as it lives alone and is a very furious creature.”
