Presiding over a meeting to review welfare schemes, Sukhbir said he was getting reports about certain eligible poor families left out during the old survey of this scheme. He asked principal secretary (to chief minister) SK Sandhu to issue directions to all deputy commissioners (DCs) in the state to launch a fresh survey to include all eligible poor families in the scheme.

He said a door-to-door survey should be conducted in every village and town to ensure that no poor family was left out.

Meanwhile, the government released Rs. 180 crore for the atta-daal scheme, under which 16 lakh families have been getting 35kg of wheat and 4 kg of pulses at subsidised rates. Sukhbir said it should be ensured that every beneficiary family got the allocated ration by the seventh of every month.
