What’s life without some drama? We’ve all had our fair share of drama sequences and those fluttery-eyed drama queens. It’s time we embrace an eat-out joint that is jet set for drama. So much so, that Sanjay Leela Bhansali wouldn’t need to build a set if he were to make a ‘Greek-inspired’

White walls, greenish-blue curtains and minimal lighting—welcome to Virgin Courtyard, Sector 7. The second half of the name is explained as you step onto the area at the back of the restaurant—white enclosure, white seating and the candlelight romancing the clear, star-lit sky. And the romance doesn’t end there. They reserve enough love for the palate as well. Don’t believe us? Try their Greek pizza for yourself! Cheekily named ‘It’s Greek to Me!’, this thin crust wood-fire oven pizza is a delight for cheese lovers. Not in the oodles-of-cheese way, but the mere presence of two different varieties of cheese. The very Italian sun-dried tomatoes, accompanied by corn kernels and the Greek touch of feta cheese and spinach leaves teases the tongue almost as much as it soothes it.
A playful game really. What’s being seen as a new trend in city restaurants, you are served a plate of appetizers after placing your order. Here, we got to taste bread served on a chic plate with butter served on a pebble. Yes, a pebble. Not the most practical idea.
The butter, when served to us, was soft at the bottom and cold at the top, which, 1) made it difficult to cut into, 2) made it slip on the smooth surface of the pebble. Retur-ning to the main course—the Bolognese Spaghetti gets another thumbs-up for being neither too runny nor thick in consistency.
The shredded lamb is rightly chewy and flavoursome.
And then comes the Handkerchief Pasta in Basil-Pesto Sauce. The beautiful handcrafted pasta, engulfed in the greenish sauce just leaves you wanting a tad bit of flavouring. Don’t get us wrong, we’re all for bland food, but this pasta in particular could do with some more flavour. Even a simple addition of pepper would do the trick. So, when the waiter approaches you with that humongous, pole-like pepper cellar, asking you if you’d like some, don’t get intimidated by the size of the thing; just nod in agreement.
