Talking to media persons here on Sunday, Ram Singh, who was questioned by Fatehgarh Sahib police said that they did not know that they were taking drugs and mistook it for food supplements to increase strength and stamina.

When they came to know that it is heroin not food supplement they stopped taking it. It may be mentioned here that Ram Singh told media persons on Saturday that Vijender and he had taken 1-2 grams of heroin from NRI Anoop Singh Kahlon four or five times and consumed it for fun.

He told media persons yesterday that he had taken heroin through the nose but he changed his statement on Sunday by saying that they mistook heroin for food supplements. Ram Singh changed his statement to save his skin as food supplements are not consumed by nose.

A senior police officer said police may question Ram Singh’s brother-in-law as police has received information of his criminal background.

Fatehgarh Sahib SSP Hardial Singh Mann said that police is trying to bust the network which is spread across India and abroad.
