The city police have arrested a 19-year-old man, Mohit, for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl. The minor had complained that Mohit had lured her into entering into an intimate relationship with her on the pretext of marrying her.
Station House Office (SHO) Bimal Kant Sharma of
police station division said that a case under Sections 376 (rape) & 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code had been registered against the suspect.
He was produced before a court on Monday and was sent to 14-day judicial remand. He added that the complainant and the accused were distant relatives. A medical examination of the girl was also conducted, the SHO added.
