The city police have arrested a brick-kiln owner for not depositing his employees' Provident Fund (PF) dues to the office concerned within the stipulated time.
Regional PF commissioner Vishwajeet Sagarhad lodged a complaint in this regard, which led to the arrest of Prem Malhotra, owner
of Raman Bricks. Assistant PF commissioner RS Jaswal led a team, and with the assitance of PF officials took Malhotra to the civil prison on the charges of failing to deposit his PF dues to the deparment, he said. The defaulter was arrested from his residence and asked to deposit PF dues of Rs. 7.62 lakh.
Sources said that the list of other defaulters is alao being finalised and action would be taken by the end of this financial year.
