Nearly 1,000 health workers would be deployed to conduct a survey to identify cancer patients in the district. The survey is supposed to start on December 1 as part of a statewide exercise.
"Various teams of medical officers, sanitary inspectors, nurses, Asha and anganwari workers
have been constituted and an extensive training programme has been drafted for the purpose, which would commence on November 15," civil surgeon Balbir Singh said.
"After training, these teams would visit each household of the district and register the cancer patients to ensure effective treatment," he further added.
