Chief Justice of India (CJI) Altamas Kabir will attend a function in Punjab University regional campus, Bajwara on December 16, being organised by the Punjab Legal Services Authority (PLSA) in association with state commission for NRIs to sensitise people about illegal immigration and focus on
the problem of fraudulent marriages involving NRI grooms.


Supreme court judge and executive chairman of National Legal Services Authority, justice DK Jain will preside over the programme. Punjab and Haryana high court chief justice AK Sikri, who is the patron-in-chief of PLSA, and other judges of the high court are also arriving.

Additional sessions judge JS Bhinder said that a cycle rally to create awareness would also be taken out which would start at 10 am from Roshan Ground and end at the Services Club. On December 15, a mega lok adalat would be held to settle pending court cases, he said.
