Concept committee finalised for Guru Ravidass memorial

The government has approved an 11-member concept committee for the finalisation of the prestigious Sri Guru Ravidass memorial to come up at Khuralgarh village in Garhshankar sub-division.
Garhshankar MLA Surinder Singh Bhulewal Rathan said that chief minister Parkash Singh Badal had
given his nod to the concept committee at a meeting held in Chandigarh. The committee would be headed by cultural affairs minister Sarwan Singh Phillaur  and chief parliamentary secretaries Sohan Singh Thandal and Som Parkash, Sant Nirmal Dass Jaurewale, Sant Surinder Dass Kathar and eminent scholars Lekh Raj Parwana, Dharampal Singal, Prof. Jasbir Singh Sabar, HS Kaler and  Siri Ram Arsh would be the members. IAS officer RL Kalsia would be the convener of the committee. 

He added that the meeting also deliberated upon the formation of executive committee to be headed by the cultural affairs minister. Hoshiarpur ADC Harminder Singh has been appointed the CEO, he said.

Rathan said that the chief minister has urged the members to make concerted efforts to ensure the completion of the holy project within the given time frame and suggested that they must study the model and concept of Jang-e-Azaadi memorial coming up at Kartarpur and replicate the same for Sri Guru Ravidass memorial.

He was informed by the Hoshiarpur leaders that 14.4 acre land had been selected for the site and after his nod, necessary formalities under Sections 4 & 6 of Land Acquisition Act would be initiated.
