The city police have booked one Parshant Kumar, reportedly lodged in Gurdaspur jail as on Saturday, for impersonating a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer and duping a city resident of Rs. 10 lakh on the promise of arranging the jobs of head constables for his son and four others in the CBI.
Kirpal Singh, a resident of Sainik Vihar in Rama Mandi, lodged a complaint with police that last month he met Parshant and was duped into handing over Rs. 10 lakh to him. However, the accused reportedly vanished after taking the money and Kirpal lodged a complaint with the police on Friday.
