Sikhs from all over the world participated in the annual Sikh parade held at Yuba City in the United States on November 4 to mark the Gurta Gaddi Divas.
North American Punjabi Association announced this in a press release here on Monday. Attended by thousands, the stop-and-go
parade was punctuated by martial arts demonstrations.

Before the start of the Sikh Parade, a function was organised at the Sikh Temple where Congressmen John Germandy and Wally Herger besides several Sikh leaders addressed the audience.

Speaking on the occasion, Germandy, while congratulating the Sikhs, appreciated the role of the community in the all-round development of the United States. He said the community was a respectable part of American society and the American society had full regard and respect for it.

Addressing the community at Divan Hall, Herger said though she was retiring from politics after the election, she would not forget the support of the community to her during her political life. She said she would always stand by the community.

Periodically, the parade stopped and participants gathered in a circle to watch performers engage in martial arts demonstration.
