After the Hindustan Times reported that buses with black films continue to ply on the roads despite the orders of the Supreme Court, the traffic police launched a drive against the violators on Sunday.
Three buses, including a government-owned PUNBUS (PB12-M-9936), two private buses
-- Syndicate bus (PB12-M-225) and Sukhmani bus (PB-11-AC-4319) -- were penalised by traffic police for having tinted glasses.

Six buses, including Libra bus (PB10-BX-8197), Ravindra bus (PB-10-CD-0745), Sidhu Bus (PB08-BK-4381), Mander bus (PB-10-DS-0735) and two others, were also issued challans for using black films.

The traffic police led by traffic in-charge Varinder Kumar also issued challans to three buses for wrong parking and other offences. He said the drive will also continue next week in the town and no bus will be allowed to run with tinted glasses.

The senior superintendent of police had written to GM, roadways, and district transport officer regarding use of black films on buses and asked them to take action against violators.
