Two injured after hit by Himachal MLA Desh Raj's car

Aleast two people were seriously injured after their scooter was hit by the car of BJP MLA Des Raj from Gangath constituency in Himachal Pradesh, near Paniyali Kalan village of Kathgarh town situated at Balachaur-Ropar road. The injured have been identified as Jasveer Singh of Kharar in
Mohali district and Sandeep Singh of Pathreri village in Ropar district.

 
According to police, both Jasveer and Sandeep were going on scooter (PB27-A-6882) to Ropar from canal side in Paniyali Kalan village of Kathgarh town.

Around 6.15 pm, when they reached near Bus stand on Balachaur-Ropar road, collided with the ford-fiesta car (HP38-B-0100) of BJP MLA Des Raj from Gangath constituency who was going to Pathankot from Shimla.


After MLA's car hit the scooter, both Jasveer and Sandeep fell on the road and sustained serious injuries.

The highway police reached the spot and rushed the injured immediately to Ropar civil hospital.

Investigation officer(IO), Surinder Pal said that “Jasveer Singh had received several fractures on legs while Sandeep sustained injurioes on the head. their condition is now stated to be stable."

He also said that, “The car was being driven by Sanjeev Kumar and MLA Des Raj and his wife Rachna Devi were sitting behind."

The IO informed that the investigation were on and the action would be taken accordingly.
