Woman found dead at home

A 50-year old woman was found murdered at her residence situated in Industrial area locality here on Saturday evening with her neck razed with sharp weapon.


Manjit Kaur, the deceased was living separately from her husband Surjit Singh and she was earning her livelihood from goats she possessed, sources said.

Sonia, her married daughter, when failed to contact her telephonically on Saturday, reached home and found her dead lying in a pool of blood, police sources revealed.

“My mother was not replying to my calls since Friday evening. Getting suspicious, I reached here and noticed her lying murdered. Nearly 75 thousands cash lying at home is missing,” Sonia said.

“Karnail Singh, a resident of village Mushkvaid was living along with her for the last five to six months. We are looking into the incident,” deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Paramjeet Singh said. Police have registered a case.
