BJP councillor's daughter commits suicide

Daughter of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councillor Renu Bansal from Ward Number 51 committed suicide under mysterious circumstances on Thursday.
Police started investigations soon after the incident was reported, but no reason for the suicide came to the light. A huge crowd
gathered at Nauria Mal Bagh in Bharat Nagar Mohalla under Division No. 5 when shrieks of Renu Bansal and other relatives were heard by the residents of the area. Bansal lost consciousness after witnessing the hanging body of her daughter in a room on the first floor of her house.

Dhriti Bansal, 19, a student of BBA, had hanged herself from the ceiling fan around 8.30 am at her house.

According to the police, no suicide note was recovered from the site. Yogesh Bansal, father of Dhriti, was out for a walk when the incident took place.

The police are working on different theories for the suicide and can also question neighbours to find out the exact details.

Nirmal Singh, incharge of the Division Number 5, said after getting conducted the post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the family. "The reason for death has come out to be death due to hanging. Time of death could be from 8 am to 9 am," Singh added.

He said the girl had come down around 8 am and then went back to her room on the first floor after which she was found hanging. The last rites were conducted around 1.30 pm.

Woman commits suicide
A married woman committed suicide in Chuhdawal, under Meharban police station, late on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Paramjit Kaur.

Paramjit's father Bakshish Singh, who lives in Patiala, alleged that her in-laws had murdered her and later hung her body from a ceiling fan.

Bakshish alleged that his son-in-law Baldev Singh called him up and said his daughter was not well. But when he reached the village, he found the body of his daughter lying on the bed. He informed the police about the matter.  The police are investigating in the matter.
